Summer in Costa Rica: A Luxury Escape

Day 1: Arrival at Arenal Springs Resort

Upon arrival, guests were met by a private transfer and escorted to Arenal Springs Resort, a luxurious property with breathtaking views of the Arenal Volcano. The resort features hot springs, three freshwater pools, three on-site restaurants, Natria Spa, a gym, and a yoga deck. Rooms are surrounded by tropical gardens alive with birds and butterflies, and breakfast is included daily.

After settling in, the evening was spent exploring the lush grounds or relaxing in the hot springs.

Day 2: 4x4 ATV Adventure

The family started their first full day with a private 4x4 ATV tour with Outback Adventures. After safety instruction, they drove through a private farm, experiencing Costa Rica’s flora and fauna while taking in the stunning views of Arenal Volcano. The tour included a stop at the Arenal River, where guests could swim before riding back.

Day 3: Rappel & White Water Rafting Combo

A morning of adrenaline awaited with a private Rappel & Raft adventure. Activities included waterfall rappelling, zipline “Monkey Drop,” rock climbing, and a short hike through the rainforest canyon. In the afternoon, the family enjoyed two hours of white water rafting on the Balsa River, swimming, and a tropical fruit break. The fun day concluded with a traditional Costa Rican lunch at a local restaurant.

Day 4: Arenal Hike & Hanging Bridges

The day began with a private naturalist-guided hike through Arenal’s rainforest. Guests walked along 15 suspension bridges, exploring diverse ecosystems, lava flows, and observation points with panoramic views of Lake Arenal and the volcano. Lunch and refreshments were included, and all transportation and entrance fees were provided. This immersive experience was a great combination of adventure, wildlife spotting, and breathtaking scenery.

Day 5: Transfer to Guanacaste Coast & Las Catalinas

A private transfer escorted the family to the Guanacaste Coast where they arrived at Las Catalinas, a new luxury beach town designed for a healthy, active, and relaxing lifestyle. They checked into Casa Lunablu, a three-bedroom villa with airy interiors, ocean-view terraces, a private pool, direct access to hiking and water activities and so much more. Daily Beach Club access is included, offering swimming pools, fitness areas, and multiple dining options.

Day 6: Catamaran Sunset Tour

The afternoon featured a private catamaran sunset cruise along Costa Rica’s Gold Coast. Guests sailed past exotic bays, white-sand beaches, and tropical jungles, watching for dolphins, sea turtles, and flying fish. Stops along the way for snorkeling and strolling along the white sand beaches were included, with refreshments and a light meal prepared by the crew.

Day 7 & 8: Explore Las Catalinas & Free Day

Guests spent their last two days exploring the town of Las Catalinas at their leisure. The car-free streets wind through scenic plazas and ocean views, with more optional guided town tours available. The Beach Club offered pools, fitness, and dining throughout the day if they wanted to hang back and relax. These free days allowed for flexibility, beach time, or optional private excursions before their departure back home.
